The Udaiti Foundation is a not-for-profit focused on catalyzing Women’s Economic Empowerment (WEE) in India. Our focus is on improving the availability and accessibility of quality work for women, addressing barriers to women’s work and entrepreneurship, and strengthening enablers that can create impact. We aim for every Indian woman to achieve her full economic potential.
Gender data and evidence in India is dispersed, with many sources, some not publicly available. Now, the industry is increasingly focusing on understanding women’s employment. Data can play a key role in nudging companies to improve their gender representation.
The Women's Formal Employment tracker looks to aggregate, analyze and visualize gender-disaggregated data to create a consolidated database of gender metrics in the private sector, including gender composition of workers across industries at different levels, designations, pay scales, and other relevant indicators.
